Mekena has a passion for connecting with people and supporting community through movement, which led her to complete a 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training. Her classes are rooted in teachings of yoga philosophy, weaving together Vinyasa, Pranayama, Kriya, visualization and meditation to enhance clarity in mind and movement. Mekena believes in teaching practitioners how to incorporate yoga into daily life outside of the studio, and frequently offers tips and tricks on how to do so. She encourages people to deep dive into the curiosities and passions of life.
Outside of the studio, Mekena loves to travel, experiment with healthy recipes, and participate in classes and trainings to expand her education and learning opportunities. Her heart belongs to art and literature, live music, fun movement and spending time outside.
